You will find our congregation to be an open and loving place. Whether you are married or single, with a family or without, we pray that you will find a welcoming spirit here.
MISSION: Duncan Memorial has a long tradition of active service in missions in our own community and around the world. Teams from this congregation have served in missions in Honduras, the Philippines and Mexico, as well as Oklahoma and Louisiana. Locally, Duncan Memorial members are leaders in Habitat for Humanity projects, Ashland Christian Emergency Services (A.C.E.S.) and Harvest of Hope. Come put your faith into action here.
LEARNING: Whether you are nine or ninety, learning never ends. The atmosphere is ripe for spiritual growth at Duncan Memorial. Our church is enriched by its historic ties to Randolph-Macon College and the involvement of its faculty and students. Our children and youth educational programs are led by caring, committed teachers. The curriculum is age-appropriate and fun. Adults may choose from a variety of Sunday morning and evening fellowship groups. Duncan Memorial has graduated several groups in DISCIPLE Bible Study programs.
WORSHIP: Coming
together for worship is central to the life of the church and empowers
us to move out in ministry. Duncan Memorial currently offers one blended worship
service each Sunday morning, with special services scheduled
throughout the year. Our musical programs welcome all ages and
abilities and include vocal, handbell, praise band and instrumental ensembles.
FELLOWSHIP: Gathering together for fellowship is an important part of what we do at Duncan Memorial. The church is a place where we bear one another's burdens and share joys and concerns. Among the many opportunities are programs of the United Methodist Women, United Methodist Men, fellowship dinners, Bible studies and circle groups. Our youth programs offer exciting outings, retreats, service projects and evening fellowship gatherings.
God calls the church to go and make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:19). We hope that you will hear God's call to come grow in faith at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church.
