Prison Ministry
In conjunction with Gospel Jail Ministry, Duncan Memorial ministers to the inmates at Pamunkey Regional Jail, particularly at Christmastime. Recognizing that Christmas is a lonely time for those in prison, members of Duncan Memorial bake dozens of cookies for the inmates. Through a companion program, members of the church buy clothing and toys for the children of those inmates and assure their delivery in time for Christmas. The Chancel Choir visits the jail during this season to bring the inmates joy in song.
During the year efforts are made to help Gospel Jail Ministry through support of their fundraising concerts as well as our own sales of items during Strawberry Faire.
